House Next Door Ministry

JoAnne Adkins has worked as a counselor in Minnesota and Wisconsin for many years. You may recognize her from her former work with Lutheran Social Services in our congregation. She graduated from St. Thomas University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.

She is now working as a counselor for those over age 50, disabled, or serving as a caretaker. JoAnne will be available for counseling as a free service.

These sessions will be held at First Lutheran Church or the House Next Door through a new Bethany Care Ministry Outreach program.

                            Free Counseling Services

            

The parsonage located next to our church is not occupied by our pastor and his wife so we decided to make use of the large space to provide both housing for our intern, Ben Loven and his wife Jen, and a great meeting space for community outreach programs.

The Department of Aging has opened a meal site at our House Next Door. Each Tuesday and Thursday meals will be served to the elderly from 10:30am—1:30pm.
