My
Story: Huber Warner
Since leaving Monroe H.S. I have
gotten bachelor's degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University (Math) and MIT
(Chemical Engineering), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University
of Michigan. This was followed by 20 years on the faculty of the
University of Minnesota, while helping (I hope) to raise 2 sons.
In
1984 I gave up the ivory tower (although not many think of Minnesota in
this light) and moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S.
Government at the National Institute on Aging.
We fund research aimed at understanding the basic mechanisms of
aging carried out at various universities, hospitals, and other research
institutions around the country (my aging friends tell me to hurry up).
This is what brings me back to Rochester occasionally.
