My Story:  Gail Dunkleberg Mann

Gail is remembered as a good friend with a ready smile and great sense of humor. During her Monroe years Gail was a member of Alpha-Kappa Tri Y, bookshelf club, visual aide, Monroe Life newspaper, Sr. Choir, and in volleyball, baseball, swimming and basketball sports activities. After High School, Gail joined the Air Force and was a flight attendant on Military Air Transport planes. Her commanding officer was her father, Col. Grover J. Dunkleberg of Brookley Air Force Base, Mobile, Alabama. On June 6, 1954, Airman 3/c Gail June Dunkleberg married T/Sgt. Charles J. Mann, USAF, a radar technician with the 1703rd Air Transport Squadron. During her Rochester career years, Gail served as manager at many local theaters, including The Cinema, and most recently at the New Regal Theater in Ridge-Culver Plaza. She lived in the historic landmark home of John Smyles, M. D. Gail is survived by her daughter, Patricia M. Mackenzie of Oswego; Mother, Eleanor Dunkleberg; Sisters, Noelle Walker and Linda (Bill) Loeber; Brother Neal (Ceceil) Dunkleberg; many nieces and nephews.
